Issue #18 is live.
Two stories published on the same day this week. Same lesson from opposite directions.
The first is a lawsuit. C.H. Robinson, Unilever, and a cold storage warehouse are named in the same complaint. A truck displaying a different DOT number than the carrier C.H. Robinson had booked arrived at the warehouse. The carrier's authority had been inactive for nearly a year. Nobody checked. The freight was released. A child named Dalilah Coleman ended up with a catastrophic traumatic brain injury.
The complaint's central question: who verified the carrier before the freight left the warehouse?
The second story is a product launch. MiKargo247 and Verified Carrier announced a partnership that removes the strategic theft exclusion from spot cargo policies when the carrier is verified. Strategic theft accounts for 30% of reported U.S. cargo theft. If you verify, the insurer removes the exclusion. If you do not, it stays.
One case. One product. The loading dock is the moment.
